We are
afraid
of words
Some said
only in
shorthand:
The "C-word"
The "F-word"
The "N-word"
Afraid of
Candy
or
Freedom
or
Night ?
& I thought
what of
"L-words"?
Lace
leading
the list
Logic
last
Life
Lilacs
Languish
But listen
when a
Lover's
lips say
the "L-word"
Love ?
Lust ?
or just
Longing ?

Wonderful response to the prompt - enjoyed the tongue-in-cheek look at words.
A very unique take on the prompt. love it!
Lively and lucid..."L" is a lovely choice... I used it, too.
adore candy as a c-word... and the rifting ells at the end. thanks for putting your own head in the mouth!
