I have eaten
the white
chickens
that were in
the red wheel
barrow
and which
were glazed
with rain
water
so lascivious
and still

Poems -- & musings on the Albany (NY) poetry scene.

I doubt that you meant to use the word "lascivious," indicating that the birds were lewd and lustful.
Dan, all has been quiet in the blog front. I was watching a comedy central stand up guy saying "get a life" the other day.
That reminded me of what somebody said on your 44 comment blog entry. A renowned Albany poet said people often perform but don't go to open mics otherwise because "(they have lives)".
I'm wondering if thats why I haven't gone lately. I don't have a life. But if I go to an open mic, then everybody will know I don't have a life.
I thought that was hilarious suddenly. If I go to an open mic, then I have a life, at least that night, but nobody will think I have a life.
If I stay home, then I don't have a life but everybody thinks I do.
aaaaaaah life.
actually I do have a life but isn't that funny?
but even then my life is funny because my friends have absolutely no interest in poetry.
So I have to go out to open mics and seek poets like me...who won't think I have a life because I am seeking poets...and what poet wants another poet who doesn't have a life?
isn't that hilarious?
Is that why Sylvia Plath killed herself? Edgar Allan Poe drank?
what a great catch-22 huh?
thats life.
chickens are indeed lascivious.
