I don’t know who said it first
who called the first middle-class
Black an “Oreo cookie,” which
took a while to register with me
the “Black on the outside
White on the inside” not something
I would pay attention to, but
that tough guy in a magnificent
Afro, leather jacket, beret & rifle
sure made it sound less than sweet
less than what I should have for a snack
after school, leastwise with a
glass of white milk.
